Marian J. Baeder, 103, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at the Cascades Assisted Living in Bethel, Connecticut. She was born on March 1, 1910 in Brooklyn New York the daughter of Frank and Ceceila (Wiegert) Frising. She grew up in Brooklyn and graduated from Richmond High School in 1928. She worked for the American Can Company as a legal secretary in New York City. Marian married her sweetheart, Sherwood Baeder, in 1934 and they lived in Baldwin Long Island until 1972. Marian and her husband moved to Heritage Village in Connecticut where she resided until October of 2009. Marian's many hobbies included reading, sewing, family photographer, animal lover, stock market follower and family historian.
Marian was predeceased by her husband, Sherwood Baeder, and her sister, Edith Maguire. Members of her family include her niece, Judith H. Booger, and her husband, Leif A. Booger, of Cary, NC, a grandniece, Lisa B. Torr of Lee, NH, and three grandnephews: Andrew N. Booger of Raleigh, NC, Scott C. Nilsen of Chapel Hill, NC, and Peter L. Booger of Raleigh, NC, as well as 11 great grandnieces and grandnephews.
A Memorial Service will be held in June 2014.
In lieu of flowers donations in Marian's name may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, VFW Youth Scholarships, 406 West 34th Street, Kansas City, MO 64111.
