Marie Gillotti-Goeller beloved mother and grandmother, and wife of the late Klaus Goeller, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 22, 2014. Marie was born on August 24th, 1940 in Danbury, CT. She attended Locust Avenue School and St. Peter's School, graduated from Danbury High School and Danbury Teacher's College (Western Connecticut State University) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and began her teaching career in the Danbury Public School as an English teacher. She later served as an English as a Second Language teacher at Henry Abbott Technical School and several adult education programs.
Marie had a life-long love of animals and supported many charitable causes. In recent years she spent her retirement enjoying time with family and friends, loved watching movies, and had a passion for music and theatre.
She is survived by her daughters Jennifer Morsey and husband Chance of Danbury, daughter Alison Salerno and husband Sean of Wappingers Falls, NY, a granddaughter Jordan Salerno, her brother John Gillotti, Jr., and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, CT on Tuesday, March 25th from 5-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Church, 85 Great Plain Road, Danbury, CT at 10am on Wednesday, March 26th. A Christian burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
