Michael A. Seaman, Sr., 68, of Danbury, beloved husband of the late MaryLou (Horch) Seaman, died at Danbury Hospital on Saturday, January 12th. He was born in Danbury on September 21, 1944, son of the late Michael and Asta (Simonson) Seaman. He was a graduate of Danbury High School and served in the United States Army Reserve.
Mike was well known for owning and operating Bardo Platt clothing store in Danbury where he started working at the age of 16. He went on to start Mike's Painting, working with his son, until he retired in 2010. He was a past member of the Danbury Exchange Club. He loved woodworking, restoring furniture, and gardening. Most recently, he discovered a talent for baking. He also enjoyed vacationing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. His sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
He will be sadly missed by his two sons, Michael A. Seaman, Jr. and his wife, Heidi of New Fairfield, and Paul D. Seaman and his wife, Andrea of Danbury; his daughter, Ellen Lyall and her husband, Daniel of Danbury; and his seven cherished grandchildren, Michael, Timothy, Analiese, Melanie, and Quinn Seaman, Jack and Reed Lyall. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, James Horch and his wife, Beth of NJ.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 17th at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Wednesday, January 16th between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm.
