Richard William Miller, 89, of Brookfield, beloved husband of Jaqueline (Hill) Miller, died on July 5, 2014 at Bethel Healthcare. He was born on February 7, 1925, in Danbury, son of the late Raymond A. and Edna May (Venning) Miller.
As a young man, Richard, was employed by Penfield, Outpost Nursey and then spent 55 years working for Venning Riggers and Building Movers. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. Richard was very fond of his champion Flemish Giant Rabbits and took great pleasure in showing them. He was well liked and respected by the people he worked with and will be sadly missed by many.
Along with his wife of 69 years, Jaqueline, he will be sadly missed by his daughter Bonnie Miller of Newtown, and his son Jeffrey Miller DVM and his wife Lisbeth of Wolcott; his grandchildren Gretchen Beardmore and her husband John of Wolcott, Nathan Miller and his wife Michelle of Blackstone, MA, Ian Miller and his wife Stephanie of Wells, ME, three great-grandchildren Alexandra, Isabella, Charlotte and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his four sisters Myrtle Smith McPhee, Evelyn Chester, Jean Clark, Ruth Morganti and one brother Raymond Miller, Sr.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 10th, 11:00am at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury. Burial will follow at Wooster Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, July 9th, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Cornell Memorial Home.
