Paris, Richard W.
Richard W. Paris, 71, of Danbury died on Monday September 16th at Danbury Hospital. A man, a dreamer with visions ahead of his time was taken from us before his time. Richard was a man of strength who persevered above any obstacle that came his way. His passion for life was bigger than life itself. He loved living to the fullest, the fall weather, talking to people, learning new things and most of all his family. He was a generous man who would give even when he had nothing. He was a talented man, a true craftsman, winning builder of the year and creating masterpieces with integrity that no one could do. He ran a successful cabinetry business Paris Design, in the Georgetown area that would put food on the table for his family and his guys, but his true passion was his cars. He had built many over the years each one as beautiful as the last. Cruising to Marcus on a Saturday night or going to a car show on a beautiful Sunday was what he looked forward to during the week. He was a big part of the Redding/Georgetown community and the D.A.V. At the time of his death, along with his daughter, Richard was fulfilling a 30 year dream of his; to open Fenders, a place where the average person who had a passion for all things automotive could come to talk shop. For those of you he would say "We know why you spend those hard earned greenbacks on chrome, welcome home." As the back of his business card read faster cars, older whiskey, younger women, more money, words to live by! He is predeceased by the love of his life, his wife of 50 years Barbara Paris and both of his parents. He leaves behind his sister and confidant Pauline Bianco of Ridgefield, his son and daughter in law Richard & Jackie Paris of Myrtle Beach, SC, his daughter Jennifer Paris and her fiancé Aaron Graves of Danbury, his grandchildren Amber & Drew Horvath, his step-grandchildren Cody & Alexa Graves and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his closest friends and most of all his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 9:30 AM in St. Peter Church, 115 Main St., Danbury. Interment will take place at the direction of the family. The family will receive friends in the Jowdy- Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Monday, September 23, from 6 PM to 8 PM.
