Hanna, William F.
William Frederick Hanna, 70, of Fishkill, NY and previously a resident of Sandy Hook, CT for 45 years, passed away on 2/12/2014. Bill is survived by his wife of 48 years, Donna (Damon) Hanna; 2 children, Darlene (Hanna) Klosen and her husband Christopher of Fishkill, NY, and William Hanna of Bridgeport, CT; 2 grandchildren, Kayla and Scott Klosen; a sister, Dorothy (Hanna) Layton and her husband Marshall; a sister-in-law, June (Meyers) Hanna; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Mary (McDonald) Damon and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Jack Hanna. Bill was born in Bridgeport, CT on February 17, 1943 to John and Frances (Menedick) Hanna. He attended Bunnell High School in Stratford, CT and graduated in 1961. He worked for Blase Manufacturing as a Tool and Die Maker, retiring in 2012 after 44 years of dedicated service. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed family adventures, home construction and woodworking. He was a member of Newtown Congregational Church. Calling hours will be held Friday February 14th from 5:00 to 7:30pm at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown, CT with a prayer service at 7:30 pm. Burial will be at Newtown Village Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Danbury Hospital's Pulmonary Rehab Dept." at Western Connecticut Health Network Foundation, 24 Hospital Ave, Danbury, CT 16810. Bill enjoyed recovering from a previous surgery with the compassion and expertise shown by the Pulmonary Rehab's staff.
