Catherine Hubbard Obituary
Catherine Violet Hubbard, age 6, born June 8, 2006, passed away Friday, December 14, 2012 during the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School. She is survived by her older brother, Frederick William, her parents Matthew and Jennifer, her great grandmother, Geraldine Russell Holden of West Chester, PA, her grandparents Susan and Leo Sullivan of West Chester, PA and Nancy and Earl Hubbard of Chatham, Mass, four uncles, four aunts and nine cousins. She will be remembered for her passion of animals and constant smile. Her family prays that she, all the students of Sandy Hook Elementary, and all those affected by this brutal event find peace in their hearts.
A wake is scheduled for Wednesday, December 19th from 4 until 7 at St. Rose of Lima Church at 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown, CT. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Thursday, December 20th at 10 am at St. Rose of Lima Church at 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown, CT. Interment will follow at St. Rose Cemetery in Sandy Hook. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Newtown Animal Center, PO Box 475, Newtown, CT 06470. The Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown is in care of arrangements.

The night before my best friend and best doggy went to heaven to be able to greet you along with our Lord Jesus.
Oscar is his name and his mother and best friend was also a red haired woman. My wife and I were saddened to send him to Heaven, but also found peace that he was there to greet you that morning when you were frightened.
I'm sure you know Oscar by now, little black and white cockatoo, also along with my wife Nancy that now is in Heaven

I know that she finds great peace and solitude in her writings, and this is the very first page I turn to when my Magnificat arrives. Your mother gives me such great strength.
