Daniel Stevenson Obituary

Daniel G. Stevenson Sr. age 65 of Bethel, died unexpectedly on Friday, December 3, 2010. Mr. Stevenson was born October 24, 1945 in Danbury, a son of Ann (Troy) Stevenson of Bethel, with whom he made his home and the late John Stevenson Sr. He was a life long resident of Bethel, and a 1963 graduate of Henry Abbott Technical School in Danbury. Dan worked as a master mechanic in his family's business 'Stevenson's Imported Cars' in Bethel from 1961 until 2000. The business was then sold and became 'Bethel Automotive' where Dan continued to work until 2008. He proudly served in the US National Guard from 1965 until 1971. Dan is survived by two daughters Jennifer Carlson of Brookfield, and Sarah Stevenson and her fianc� Michael Narracci of Boston, MA; two sons Daniel G. Stevenson Jr. and his wife Colleen (Doyle) of Brewster, MA and Matthew Stevenson of Bethel; two brothers John Stevenson Jr of Palm Harbor, FL and James Stevenson of Bethel; two sisters Mary Sullivan and her husband Mark of Windsor, and Jean Visconti and her husband Ted of Bethel; two grandchildren Cassandra and Tanner Carlson and several nieces and nephews. Dan will be remembered by those who knew him for his ability to fix just about anything. He was a man with a generous heart and was always willing to put others before himself. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated in St. Mary's Church, Bethel, on Tuesday December 7, 2010 at 10 o'clock. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bethel. Family will receive friends in the Bethel Funeral Home 215 Greenwood Ave, Bethel, CT on Monday from 5 until 8 pm. I have many fond memories of Dan especially at my dad's bar - Park Restaurant and then Pete's Corner. I always looked up to him as kind of a big brother. May God's peace be with you all.

Mrs. Stevenson, my love and prayers are with all of you during this devastating time. I'm thankful that we have the promise of that great reunion day. I have many wonderful memories of Daniel G. He was one of the most gentle,sweet and kind people I have ever known. One of the good guys for sure. I believe God places roses in our lives and Danny was one of mine.
