Lucell Thompson-Fenton Obituary

Lucell Harriet Burke Thompson-Fenton "Peggy" age 91, passed peacefully on Saturday December 4, 2010. Peggy was born September 4, 1919 in Cornish, NH in her grandma's home. She was the daughter of the late Harriet Eunice (Nelson) Burke and Fredrick H. Scruton. Peggy married Harold Thompson on January 10, 1937 and they moved to Connecticut in 1938. They lived in many towns where Harold worked farming. She worked for Pepperidge Farm Bakery for 10 years. She and her husband moved to New Milford in 1956 where he passed away in 1959. After moving to New Milford Peggy worked for Winchester Electronics for 2 years and for Kimberly Clark Manufacturing for 23 years. She married Frank Fenton in June 1960 and he passed away in 1964. Peggy is survived by a daughter Flossie Jackson and her husband of Norwalk, three sons Leonard "Butch" Thompson and his wife Wanda of Middlesex, VT, Eddie Thompson and his wife Bea of Wymore, NE,, Richard Thompson and his wife Jane of Barre, VT, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a daughter Adeline Thompson and granddaughter Becky Fisher. Funeral service will be held Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. in the Colonial Funeral Home 87 Park Lane RD, New Milford. Family will receive friends at the Colonial Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5 until 7 pm. Burial will take place in Highland Cemetery, Chelsea, VT.
