Peter Aliapoulios, 61, of Redding passed away with his family by his side on Christmas morning after a long battle with congestive heart failure. Peter was the beloved husband of Vickie Aliapoulios, proud father of Shari Wright, and her husband Daniel, of Newtown, Kristina Mulhall, and her husband Benjamin, of Litchfield, and Christopher Aliapoulios of Berlin, and adoring grandfather of Alyssa, Aubrey, Adrianna, and Kayleigh. He is also survived by his sister, Cathy Kraut of Manhattan, and brother, Charles Aliapoulios of Norwalk. Peter was born in Manchester, NH on July 14, 1952 to Alexander & Constance Aliapoulios of Ft Lauderdale, FL. He grew up in Norwalk, graduating from Brien McMahon High School in 1970, and resided in Redding for the past 30 years. As his children were growing up he was actively involved in coaching and played an essential role in the rebuilding of the Jessie P. Sanford Boys & Girls Club in Redding. Peter spent the majority of his career specializing in corporate security and fire alarm systems with ISS/UTC and most recently Advanced Electronic Systems in Brookfield. In his spare time Peter enjoyed being with his family, golfing, doing yard work, cooking, taking trips to the casino, and following the Yankees. A memorial service to honor Peter's life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 am at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
