Sherrie Blount Obituary

Blount, Sherrie T.
Sherrie T. Blount, age 31, passed away on Saturday October 8, 2016. She is the daughter of James T. Blount IV and Debrorah (Moffett) Blount. Sherrie was born on June 10, 1985 in Danbury CT.
Sherrie worked for the Danbury Public Schools as a teacher's aide where she loved helping kids with special needs. She loved spending play time with her children, many nieces and nephews at special events, parks and family gatherings. She had a creative mind and she enjoyed graphic design, cosmetology and psychology and always strived to do her best. She had a gentle charm and personal magnetism, independent and was drawn to whatever was different and original in life. She was great at research or any work that required digging, searching, investigating, and getting beneath the surface. A real moving force in the lives of others, especially the young. She particularly enjoyed helping others solve their problems and giving them a new perspective when faced with challenges. She was very loyal, loving and down-to-earth.
She is survived by her three sons: Christopher Jr., Cortez, Cadien Mejia and her daughter Calei Mejia, Stepmother Kelly Horgan, three brothers Tyon, Shane (and his Daughter Shanell), James Blount Jr and sister MyShawn & husband Corey Artis and their three children. Grand parents Joe & Williemae Ottley, Grand father Cleveland Moffett, Sr. Uncle Cleveland Moffett Jr. As well as her best friend and soul mate Mrs. Devon Taylor, many nieces and nephews, and also many more family members who's names are not mentioned.
Family and friends may gather on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at The Mount Pleasant A.M.E. Zion Church located at 69 Rowan Street, Danbury CT from 3 to 4 p.m., followed by a homecoming service at 4:00 p.m.

Sherrie was one my best friends. She was like family to me. We all loved her so much. She was always there to listen and give you advice. She was the best Mom in the world. Everyone that met her couldn't help but fall in love with her. She was kind, generous, and funny. She always made me laugh. I'm going to miss her so much but I will hold on to all the wonderful memories I have of her. I'm happy to at least have those. My love and prayers go out to her family, who have always been so kind to me. God bless them. May God watch over her children. I promise to always be here for them. I love you Sherrie. You will never be forgotten.

Though I only worked with Sherrie for one school year, She was a joy to work with and to be around. She loved the children she worked with as much as they loved her. Her spirit and energy could brighten anyone's day. My thoughts and prayers are with her family for their tragic loss. Rest with the Angels Sherrie.
