Spolowich, Sherry
Sherry Louise Birch Spolowich 42, of Kent, CT, passed away on June 29, 2013 at her home. Sherry was born in New Milford on February 25, 1971 to Kathleen Ann Schaffmeir and the late Ralph LeRoy Birch. Sherry was married to John Spolowich on November 15, 2008; they had two dogs that she loved very much Shawnee and Wappoo.
Sherry worked as a housekeeper with her husband John. She enjoyed camping, gardening, beading, being with friends and family and being Schaghticoke Indian.
Sherry is survived by her husband John E. Spolowich, her father-in-law John Spolowich, her sister-in-law Maxine Gautier, her mother Kathleen Ann Schaffmeir, her step-father Martin Schaffmeir, her brothers Martin Schaffmeir Jr., Eugene Schaffmeir, Steven Birch of Mississippi, Alan Birch of Vermont, Michael Birch and his wife Rain of North Carolina, her sisters Helen (Meg) Birch and brother-in-law Rich Simms of Saugerties NY and Sue Birch Corbitt and brother-in-law Mike Corbitt from Groton CT. Sherry also survived by her Aunt Linda Sherain and Uncle Harold Birch and several cousins.
Sherry is also survived by her nephews Kevin, Danny, Christopher, Jason, Alan Jr., Mike Jr. and nieces Missy, Courtney, and Madison.
A gathering will be held at 148 Kinney Hill Road in New Preston on July 21, 2013 from 1pm to 3pm. Funeral is being handled privately.
Family and friends say that Sherry was not just a daughter, a sister, a wife, or an aunt she was a fun loving free spirited woman who loved nature, gardening, the reservation, and not wearing shoes. The family of Sherry Birch Spolowich wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and support.
