Alexander William "Chuck" Zachos, age 25 of Newtown passed away June 22, 2012 after a lifelong battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a battle he fought hard and valiantly. He was born in Mount Kisco, NY on September 21, 1986 a son of John and Ann (LaPadura) Zachos.It was Alex's determination and strong will that helped him to overcome many a setback. It was the courage he displayed with a wonderful smile that many would tell you had touched and changed their lives. Alex was known for his love of meteorology and was himself an amateur meteorologist. He was an avid movie buff and loved playing video games. He was a graduate of Newtown High School in 2006 where he had many, many terrific friends and faculty who cared for him. In addition to his parents, Alex is survived by his sister Abigail. He also leaves behind his paternal grandmother Kazuko Zachos and his maternal grandparents John and Patricia LaPadura. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him so dearly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church, Newtown Tuesday June 26th at 10:30am. Interment will follow in Newtown Village Cemetery. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown Monday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
