Dear Kim and family,

Words cannot express the intensity of Romayne and my sadness when we became aware of Don's passing. We can't imagine what it is like to experience this. Knowing you I have faith you will find the strength to carry on. Although I never met your husband, in talking with you for the time we worked together, as well as reading the obituary, I know he was a wonderful person who touched many people in a special way. Please take whatever time is needed to grieve and understand that you will continue to be connected to your husband as you see the influence Don had "and will continue to have" on the boys as they grow to be men. Romayne and my thouhts are with you, your boys and your and Don's extended family. Please take care and when the time is right, I look forward to talking with you.

Dear Marilyn and Don,
I hope you remeber me Marilyn, It's Dottie from the diner days - You, Connie and Pat were my mentors when I was only 17 yrs old. You took me under your wing and showed me the ropes. Well now I'm 52 yrs old and I have never forgotten the pride with which you spoke about your children and your husband! Being a Mom and Grandma now, I understand that pride. I also, at this time hope that I never feel the pain you, as a Mom certainly feel now. May God grant you the strength to get through this difficult time and know that there are people out there who love you, and will always be there - just as you have been for so many. Cherish the memories and enjoy every day you spend with those precious grand children, as that may be the greatest gift a son can ever give his Mom.
My heart breaks for you,
Love, Dottie.

In thinking back to grammar school at St Gregs, I always remember Donald with his head into a book , usually something like dungeons and dragons. What I remember most is that he was the nicest guy , very serious but full of laughter and silly things. Donald will surely be missed as he was one of those people that when he touched your heart with the smallest of kind acts it was something that would be remembered forever. My prayers go out to the family during this time of sorrow.
