Fiddler, Dora L.
Dora Louise (Altamura) Fiddler, of Westport, died peacefully at Danbury Health Care Center, Danbury, Ct. on March 30, 2013. She was 91. Mrs. Fiddler was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 31, 1921. Following a long and successful career on Wall Street in Securities Trading and Investment Banking in the 1940's and 1950's, she retired to devote her time to her family. A resident of Westport for 47 years, she was active in numerous community service and civic activities, including the Westport Historical Society, Fairfield Women's Exchange, the Investment Club of Westport and the Fairfield County Hunt Club. She is survived by her husband of over 56 years, Capt. Roy E. Fiddler; two children, Maria Leukart and her husband Jay of Monroe, Ct. and Edward Fiddler and his wife Terry of Brookfield, Ct.; three grandchildren, Sarah Kelly and her husband Brian of Fairfield, Ct., Ashley Leukart of Monroe, Ct. and Timothy Fiddler of Brookfield, Ct.; and two great-grand children, Connor and Jack Kelly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Luke Church, 49 Turkey Hill Lane, Westport. Entombment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield.
