Dorothy Setaro Obituary

Setaro, Dorothy M.
Dorothy Marie Setaro passed away on to eternal rest on Friday August 2,2013 in Danbury. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Angelo C. Setaro on March 4, 2010. Dorothy was born in Danbury on August 29, 1915 the 7th child and youngest daughter of the late Antonio and Rose (Novella) Dalessio. She graduated from St Peter's School and enjoyed living with her family on Liberty Street, the heart of the "Barbary Coast." Dorothy and Angelo were married in St Peter's Church June 20,1938, and she entered into the honored profession of homemaker. She and Angelo raised their two children on North Street, and then Juniper Ridge, where she lived for over 56 years. Dorothy's nickname "Honey " followed her throughout her life, as did her sense of fashion and exceptional culinary skills. She delighted in making her family's favorite meals, and the Juniper Ridge homestead was the setting for countless Sunday family dinners and holiday celebrations. She loved her role as Mom and "Noni" to her grandchildren. Her presence will be missed, and her love always remembered . Dorothy is survived by her beloved children: son and daughter- in- law Charles and Maureen Setaro, of Inverness Florida, her daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Ted Thibodeau of Danbury, her cherished grandchildren:grandson Christopher C. Setaro, and his wife Carla, her granddaughter, Ashley C. So sorry we were away when Honey passed on. She enjoyed a long life filled with family and was so fortunate to spend much of it in her home. Bless all her family for taking such good care of her.

Thanks to everyone who visited mom, and who honored her August 5 at church. She loved all who spent time with her and all her caregivers at home and at Glen Hill. We will always remember the compassion and kindness mom was given. She is now enjoying a much deserved rest. Special thanks to dear cousins Mary and Barbara, fighting their own battles, who found the time to show their love to mom. ?
