Helen Goff Obituary

Helen B. Goff, 84, of Ridgefield, wife of the late Donald H. Goff died at her residence on Sunday, January 9, 2011. Mrs. Goff was born in Irvington, NJ, November 24, 1926, daughter of Frank and Sophia (Keuhnle) Bauer. She attended New Jersey schools and had worked as a legal secretary, narrator of travel films and was a travel agent with the former Jeanne Cook Worldwide Travel of Ridgefield. Mrs. Goff enjoyed music and was an accomplished violin and piano player and served on the board of the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra for many years. An avid traveler, she traveled to Tibet, Galapagos, Antarctica, and Iceland as well as the more common destinations of the Caribbean and Europe. She has been a resident of Ridgefield for the past forty years. Mrs. Goff is survived by a daughter, Susan E. Goff of Ridgefield; a son, Donald H. Goff Jr. and his wife, Mary Caryl of So. Glastonbury, CT and four grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 12 noon in St. Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield, CT. Interment will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St. Ridgefield on Friday, January 14th from 4PM to 6PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Goff's memory and honor may be made to the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra, 90 East Ridge Road, Ridgefield, CT 06877.
