We mourn the loss of Joann Emanuele Robinson. The daughter of Albert and Frances Emanuele, devoted wife of Alfonso Robinson, and loving mother of Lauryn and Andrew, Joann was born in Danbury in 1969. She attended both St. Joseph's and St. Gregory's School and graduated Immaculate High School in 1987. Upon graduation, Joann received her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of New Hampshire and a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Central Connecticut State University. Joann was employed at Ability Beyond Disability where she worked in several capacities, the latest being Behavioral Analysis. Joann overcame several different disabilities over the course of her life, and was able to use the insight gained from her life experiences to help others who haves challenges of their own. Joann leaves as a legacy not only her two beautiful children, but the many improved lives that she helped to shape through her life's work. The family would like to thank Ability Beyond Disability, nurses on the Oncology floor of Danbury Hospital, staff, teachers and parents at St. Gregory School, and Dr. Michael Cohenuram. Joann is survived by her husband, her two children, and will be sorely missed by her parents, and sister Rosemarie Emanuele Miller.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for Ability Beyond Disability or the Paxir Cancer Center at Danbury Hospital.
