Dearest Terry, Mary, Tom, and William: I can't imagine what you are going through during this most difficult of times. Know that you are surrounded by the love and support of family and many friends and are in the thoughts of countless others whose lives were touched by John. May there soon be a day when the deep well of grief associated with his sudden death is replaced by the many meaningful and touching memories and images of happier times spent together.
With love and support....

Dear Terry, Mary, Bill, and Tom:

Words cannot express how I feel, but I still want to say that your family is in my heart and mind right now. I wish I'd been able to visit with John even one more time... but I'll never forget your hospitality and tolerance of our adolescent antics when John and I would visit each other each summer. You went out of your way to make sure that John and I could remain friends after I'd moved hundreds of miles away, and as a result we were still friends twenty-one years later. Thank you so much.

John was the embodiment of dry wit and sustained goofiness with a great big heart whose feet I remembered, barely touched the ground. He never walked, but rolled in with his sly ever sliding sense of humor that always left an impression of warmth and sincerity upon those of us who knew and rolled with him.

He will be greatly missed.
