Ken Smith Obituary

Ken Smith, age 65 of Norwalk, beloved husband of Denise Pontbriant-Smith died on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the VAMC in West Haven. Born in Darien, the son of Lester and Mary Lou (Ferrino) Smith, he served in the US Army during Vietnam and worked as a heavy equipment operator. A generous man with a huge heart, he especially loved nature and animals as well as classic cars. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Denise, whom he married on Nov 5, 1995 and with whom he enjoyed the past 21 years; loving daughters Lori Smith and Tammy Senecal, 9 grandchildren; Kendi, Ronald, Sky, Julian, Kobe, Tammy, Jorge, Richard and Ronnie, and 4 great-grandchildren; Charlotte, Tavera, Kamahli and Julissa. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Ray, Lester, Billy, Arthur, Robert, Barbara, Diane, Donna and Joan, as well as his mother and father-in-law; Pat and Don Pontbriant. A memorial services will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road Newington CT 06111.
