Laura Mae "Gigi" Benedict, 85, of Bethel, passed away surrounded by her family on July 25, 2011. She was born March 25, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA. Laura was a member of the First Congregational Church in Danbury for over 60 years, the Order of the Eastern Star and a longtime Stanley Home Products dealer. Laura and her husband of 63 years, Alfred raised their four girls in Bethel and have lived there for more than 55 years. They enjoyed spending time with their family camping and wintering in Florida. Besides her husband, Laura is survived by her daughters: Lynne Benedict of CA, Karen Robinson and her husband Wes of FL, Laurie Lincoln of Naugatuck, and Dawn Sadler and her husband Roby of New Milford; her five grandchildren: Mariah Robinson, Jason Estep, Josh Robinson and his wife Sonie, Samantha Lincoln, and Heather Bishop and her husband Eric; and her two great- granddaughters: Avery Robinson Cologna, and Ellie Robinson. She was pre-deceased by her infant daughter Phyllis Benedict. There will be a memorial service, Thursday, July 28 at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Danbury, followed by a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Laura's memory to the First Congregational Church of Danbury, 164 Deer Hill Avenue, Danbury, CT. There are no calling hours. A private burial will be held at Wooster Cemetery, Danbury. Hull Funeral Service, Danbury is handling arrangements.
