Marie (Bader) Madkour, 88, of Danbury, wife of the late George Madkour, died on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Danbury Hospital. Mrs. Madkour was born in Ain Dara, Lebanon, October 10, 1925, a daughter of the late Ameen and Bahiay (Yamin) Madkour. She attended schools in Lebanon, graduated from nursing school and was a retired nurse prior to becoming a full time homemaker. She has been a resident of Danbury for the past thirteen years. Mrs. Madkour is survived by two sons, Antoine Madkour and his wife, Maria of Naples, FL and Bechara Madkour and his wife, Patricia of Brookfield; two daughters, Carmen Balesh and her husband, Mounir of Lebanon and Randa Antous and her husband, Fred of Danbury; a brother, Madi Beder of Lebanon; eight grandchildren, Danielle Madkour, Mark Madkour, George Madkour, Julie Madkour, Joe Balesh, Marise Balesh, Zenia Antous and Rima Antous; a great grandson, George Doumit and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Madkour was predeceased by a sister, Malvina Beder. The Liturgy of the Resurrection will take place on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 10 AM in St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 17 Granville Ave., Danbury. Burial will take place in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Friday, February 22, 2013 from 5 PM to 8 PM.
