Mary NeJame Obituary

Mary E. NeJame, age 96, of Pleasant Valley, NY, passed away at home on September 19, 2010. Born in Torrington, August 15, 1914, to the late George B. NeJame and Malaky NeJame. She was a member of the St. Mary's Church in Poughkeepsie, NY., and a member of the church choir. Mary was a secretary for IBM in Poughkeepsie for 25 years, retiring in 1975. Prior to IBM she was a licensed beautician and owned Marabeth Beauty in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and was a member of Lebanon-American Daughters Club and a member of IBM Glee Club and the Women's Moose Club College of Senior Regents and was part of the Interfaith Music Choir. She was an incredible dancer, piano player and a loving aunt, sister and daughter. Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Marie Betros Dow, Joyce Betros, Stephen E. Betros, Diane Bertros Smith, Thomas K. Bagwell, Jr., Mary Sue Bagwell Tkacs, Michelle NeJame, Lisa NeJame, George and Christopher NeJame, Cindy, Karin, Charles, Jr., and Robin JeJame. She was predeceased by her nephew, Mark NeJame; brothers, Edward E. NeJame in 1988, William NeJame in 1986 and Charles NeJame; sisters, Josephine Bagwell in 2005 and Amelia Betros. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Church, 231 Church St., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on September 23, 2010 at St. Mary's Church, 231 Church St., Poughkeepsie, NY. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday (Today) September 22, 2010 from 4 to 7 p.m. The Lebannon-American Daughters will hold a service at 6 p.m.
