Setaro, Michael A.
Michael A. Setaro, "Bubby", passed away peacefully at his home in Danbury early on the morning of December 30, 2013 at the age of 94, surrounded by his loved ones. Michael was predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Anastasia (Tyburszec) Setaro.
Michael was born August 1, 1919 in Danbury, to the late A. Charles Setaro and Caroline Lillian (Rizzo) Setaro. A lifelong resident of Danbury, Michael's father and family owned the Colony Grill Restaurant on North Street. He attended St. Joseph School and Danbury High School. He served in the U.S. Army as a troop transporter and after discharge worked at Amphenol as a supervisor of shipping for over 30 years. He was a parishioner of Saint Joseph Church, Danbury. Michael enjoyed being outdoors gardening, spending time with his family, and grandchildren.
Michael was predeceased by his sister: Jennie M. Dalessio and his brothers: Angelo Charles Setaro, Jr. and Dominic Setaro.
Michael is survived by his two daughters: Carol Anne (Setaro) Llibre and Husband Dr. Danilo Llibre of South Carolina and Barbara (Setaro) Ramey of Danbury, his grandchildren Lawrence Llibre and wife April, of South Carolina, Tara Ramey and boyfriend Jonathon Stone, and Brian Ramey of Danbury, his great grandchildren Austin and Zachary Stone, his brother Peter Setaro of Danbury and several nieces and nephews.
Contributions in Michael's memory may be made to Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western CT. We would like to give special thanks to the staff of Regional Hospice for their exceptional care, and also to granddaughter Tara Ramey and caregiver (C.N.A.) Angie Pecete for their loving care and devotion to Michael.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Monday January 6th at Saint Joseph Church, Danbury. Burial will be in Saint Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home 57 Main Street Danbury on Sunday January 5th from 2 to 5 pm.
