Allen , Monica
Monica E. Allen, 69, of New Fairfield, beloved wife of Michael Allen, passed away peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Friday, August 17, 2012, with her loving family by her side.
Monica was born in Danbury, daughter of the late Burton and Leoma Leach. She graduated from Danbury High School and has lived in New Fairfield for most of her life. She has been a longtime member of St. Edward the Confessor Church.
In addition to her husband she is survived by seven children: Edward Allen of New Fairfield, Joseph Allen of Woodbury, Monica Allen of Danbury, Mary Foster of Pawling, NY, Maureen Allen of Aiken, SC, Catherine Allen of Thomaston and Teresa Swanson of Bristol, her brothers: Burton Leach of Newtown and Arthur leach of Danbury, her sister Roberta Leach of Danbury, eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Naomi Tomaino.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield, on Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Edward the Confessor Church, 21 Brush Hill Rd., New Fairfield, CT 06812.
