Hoyenski, Peter J.
Peter John Hoyenski; 54 years old died at his home in Waldoboro, Me. of natural causes on January the 19th, 2014. Peter was one of a kind. Those who knew him would agree. He was a master stonemason and carpenter. He knew every aspect of building. He was also a superb athlete and guitarist. He often performed with his sister. He was a walking encyclopedia of history and had an opinion on every political event. He loved the military but was ineligible for service due to a congenital heart condition. He had an unflinching loyalty to family and friends.
When his family moved to Maine Peter went also and took on the work of restoring two 19th century houses. He planned to settle his family and then build a house of his own. He loved the coast of Maine and spent many hours sitting and observing.
Peter is survived by his parents Jeanie and Charles Hoyenski of Waldoboro, Me.; two brothers Charles Hoyenski of Austin, Texas and Aaron Hoyenski of Waldoboro, Me.; a sister May Ellan Couch and her husband John Couch of Bristol, Me.; two nephews Daniel and Wilbur Couch and two nieces Samantha and Roxanne Hoyenski of Kingman, Az.
He also leaves, among countless others, three lifelong friends Dale Yelvington, Greg Fagan and Ben White and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Words cannot express how much he will be missed.
A funeral service will be held on Monday January 27, 2014 at Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT at 1 pm. Interment will follow in Kent Hollow Cemetery in Kent, CT. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
Donations can be made to Wounded Warrior Project in his memory.
