Raymond Gardner Obituary

Raymond R. Gardner, age 69 of South_ington, passed away at his home on October 10, 2010. He was the husband of the late Lois E. (Wildman) Gardner. He was born on December 16, 1940 in Bridgeport, son of the late Kenneth and Anna May (Ackerman) Gardner. He was a member of the New Life Christian Church. Ray enjoyed spending time with his family and working with various groups within his church. His greatest passion was his motorcycles, which he enjoyed from when he was sixteen years old. Ray is survived by four daughters, Sandra Lewis and husband, Michael of New Milford, Susan Kitchen and husband, Major Robert Kitchen of Colorado, Jo-Ann Smith and husband, David of Southington, TammyJo Benning of Derby; two brothers, Kenneth Gardner Jr. of Brookfield and Lawrence Gardner of Waterbury; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by a son, John A. Gardner. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the New Life Christian Church College Fund, 289 Chestnut Hill Ave., Waterbury, CT 06704 A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday October 16, 2010, at New Life Christian Church, 289 Chestnut Hill Ave. in Waterbury. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington is assisting the family with the arrangements.
