Richard Clausing Obituary

Richard David "Hooker" Clausing of Danbury passed away at Laurel Ridge Health Care Center in Ridgefield on October 5, 2010 after a lengthy illness. He was born May 23, 1933 in Danbury, a son of George T. and Eleanor (Banks) Clausing. He married the love of his life, Kayanne Wilbur on August 20, 1995. Dick grew up in Bethel and graduated from Bethel High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 55 and then started as a tool and die maker at Dictaphone. He was Daddy to Brenda Sturges of Deltona, Fla., Barbara Ellis (husband Louis) of Deltona, Fla., and Maura Mattia (husband, Michael) of Danbury. Beloved Pop had four grandchildren, Crystle Johnson (fiance Garry Hayes) of Farmville, N.C., Tyler Haber, Heather Mattia and Amber Mattia of Danbury. Dick also had many nieces and nephews, along with many long-time close friends. He is also survived by his brother, Lloyd B. Clausing of Long Beach, N.C. and was pre-deceased by his brother, George W. Clausing and sister, Margaret Clausing Leach.
