Richard Dolan

Richard Dolan, age 72, of Brookfield, died on Tuesday, September 21st at the Danbury Hospital. Richard was born July 3, 1938 in Danbury, the son of the late Harry J. and Mary (Sullivan) Dolan. A lifelong Danbury area resident, he was a graduate of the Danbury High School, Class of 1956 . He served in the U.S. Air Force for five years, where he was stationed in Alaska, California, and Texas. Richard was employed as a substance abuse counselor for Arms Acres, Carmel, NY for many years until the time of his retirement. Richard is survived by his cousins: Michael Pickwick , his wife Linda and their family of Newtown, John Sullivan, his wife Maryellen and their family of Reinken, NY, Martin Sullivan and family of Washington, Pam Gillespie and family of Naples, FL, and four stepsons: Joseph, David, Christopher, and Michael Lipson. Richard was predeceased by his brothers, H. James and Thomas M. Dolan Graveside services will take place on Tuesday September 28th at St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Leo McIlrath officiating. The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home 57 Main Street, Danbury on Monday evening from 6 thru 8 pm. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers, are requested to be made to your local chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous.
