Pat, we are deeply saddened by Smittys passing, he was a great man, who enriched every life he touched. His body was the only thing on this
planet that he couldn't fix, but he gave it his best.

Richard was a hero. He suffered through much illness, yet never gave up. He was steadfast and true to his family, his work and his God. I am proud to be his sister and mourn his passing as a great loss, not only to me and my family, but to all of those who worked and played with him.
From our childhood in Brooklyn, our adolescence in Carmel and our adulthood, separated by miles and work, we were always, always aware of our bonds. We fought and we loved each other. I will miss him more than I can say.
He was happy, so happy and fulfilled with the live he lived with Pat. There are few words or phrases that can capture how grateful I am that he had this time with her.
God speed Rich. we love you. we love you.

Pat, Smitty was a great man and a master at his work no matter what he was doing. I have learned some much from Smitty over the years, especially all of the things that you can do with dental floss. If you found floss in a dental unit in an office you knew Smitty was here. I always enjoyed our cups of tea. We will miss him. Love Tim & Janie O'Brien
