Mrs. Rosanna Angelina (Rizzo) Babasick, age 88, of Water-town, formerly of Newtown, passed away Tuesday October 11, 2011 at River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury. She was the wife of 58 years to the late Andrew J. Babasick Jr. Rose was born September 12, 1923 in Port Chester New York, daughter of the late Angelo & Benedatta (Lisanti) Rizzo. Before becoming a resident at River Glen, she resided in Watertown and was a long time resident of Newtown. Rose worked as an inspector at Vitramont in Trumbull. While at River Glen , she was the president of the resident council, known as "El Presidente" by her aides and staff. Rose enjoyed bowling and was a member of St. Rose Parish in Newtown for many years. She leaves four sons, Steven Babasick and his wife Bonnie of Oakville, Richard Babasick and his wife Debbie of Phoenix AZ, Michael Babasick and his wife Jane of Brentwood TN, Kenneth Babasick and his wife Teresa of Oakville, two daughters, Patricia Partington and her husband William of Southbury, Elizabeth Caswell of Watertown, sixteenteen grandchildren, Lisa Roman, Kim Darby, Stacy Williams, Donna Babasick, Ellissa Friedman, Aram, Mathew, Shane, Meghan, and Michael Babasick, Ashley Pita, Shannon McIntyre, Ken and Christopher Babasick, Sherlie and Roberto DeJesus, seven great grandchildren, two brother-in-laws John Babasick and his wife Anne of SC, and Joseph Babasick and his wife Phyllis of Stratford. Rose was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Paris, Catherine Civatella, Carmella Ferry, and three brothers Joseph, William, Anthony and Angelo Rizzo. Arrangements: A Mass will be held Saturday October 15, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main St. South, Southbury. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Newtown. Calling hours will be held Friday at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury from 5 to 8 p.m. The family would to thank the staff at River Glen Health Care Center for the care and friendship they showed Rose during her stay.
