Rose Simoes Obituary

Rose (Gaudioso) Simoes, age 100 of Danbury, passed away at her residence on Monday Evening, November 22, 2010. Rose was the wife of the late Manuel L. Simoes. She was born December 26, 1909 in Danbury daughter of the late Pasquale and Savaria (Lipsi) Gaudioso. Rose was employed by Risdon Manufacturing retiring after numerous years of service. She is survived by her children, Jacqueline Unger, Sandra Werdann and her husband, Dick, and Robert F. Simoes and his companion, Eileen Patton; 10 grandchildren, Sherri Zak and her husband, Tony, Lisa Ruiz and her husband, Marco, Chris Simoes and his wife, Leslie, Rick Werdann and his wife, Michelle, Dana Clark and her husband, Jon, Kim MacKinnon and her husband, Bill, Scott Werdann and his, wife Rachel, Mark Piskura, Jill Blankschen and her husband, Michael, Michelle Hoffman and her husband, Terry; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and also her caregiver, Xoliswa A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church on Saturday morning at 10:30 . Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. Friends will be received in the Green Funeral Home 57 Main St., Danbury on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Those who wish may make contributions in Rose's memory to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Fairfield Chapter, 200 Connecticut Ave., Suite 5H, Norwalk, CT 06854 or Regional Hospice of Western CT, 405 Main St., Danbury, CT 06810. The family would like to thank Regional Hospice of Western CT and a special heart felt thanks to her caregiver, Xoliswa.
