Stanley Weston Obituary

Stanley A. Weston, 87, of Bethel, formerly of Ridgefield, died peacefully on September 29 in Danbury. Mr. Weston was born March 17, 1923 in Huntington, VT one of fourteen children to the late Joe and Mae Weston. He moved to Ridgefield in 1939 and owned and operated a landscaping business until he retired to Vermont in 1980. A World War II U.S. Army veteran, he served in the European Theatre in Ireland, England and France. Stanley is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bonnie; his daughter, Linda Weston of Newtown; his grandchildren, Sidney of Houston, TX, Stanley of Bethel, James of Vermont and Melissa Hackett and her husband, Keith of Newtown; three great grandchildren, Ashley, Elizabeth and Stanley; his sisters, Murlin Washburn and Mavis Stevens and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Windsor, Evans, Richard, his twin, Sidney, Hiram and Cleland and his sisters, Laurel, Mildred, Patricia, Leatha and Audrey and his son in law, Stanley F. Weston. Graveside funeral services and burial will take place on Friday, October 8, 2010 in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ridgefield. The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Thursday, October 7th, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Department of Veterans Affairs, Voluntary Services, 215 Main Street, White River Junction, VT 05009.
