Treva Kromm Obituary

Treva O. Kromm, age 93, mother of Sharon K. Landel-Leary, died on Monday, October 4, 2010 at Pope John Paul II Center for Healthcare, Danbury. She was the wife of the late James L. Kromm. Mrs. Kromm was born in Kunkle, Ohio, March 10, 1917, daughter of Sylvenus E. and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Fenicle. She attended Kunkle schools and graduated from the Warner Beauty College of Ft. Wayne, IN and was a licensed beautician. During the 50 years of hairdressing, Mrs. Kromm had operated businesses in Kunkle, Ohio, West Unity, Ohio and Montpelier, Ohio as well as teaching hairdressing at Warner Beauty College. She retired in 1987. For many years, Mrs. Kromm and her husband wintered in Florida for many years. She enjoyed traveling, arts and crafts and enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Montpelier Presbyterian Church and the Cardinal Study Club. She also was a member of the Montpelier Senior Citizens and the Business and Professional Woman's Club. Mrs. Kromm has been a resident for the past six years coming from Ohio. In addition to her daughter, Sharon and her husband, Daniel Leary of Danbury, she is also survived by three grandchildren, Tamera Ryman, Robert Kissinger and Kimberly Hickman and her husband, Tim; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchild-ren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Kromm was predeceased by two sisters, Gwendolyn Leola and Pauline Ave and by a brother, Albert Fenicle. A Memorial service will take place at the Montpelier Presbyterian Church, Montpelier, Ohio. Burial will be in Floral Grove Memorial Park, Pioneer, Ohio. Contributions in Mrs. Kromm's honor and memory may be made to the Montpelier Presbyterian Church, Montpelier, Ohio or to a charity of one's own choice. Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
