Christine Deboben Hunt, 81, of Southbury, formerly of Danbury, passed away on March 11, 2014, at Danbury Hospital, with her family by her side. Christine was born in Danbury, CT on January 7, 1933 to William Hogan and Amy (Frazure) Hogan. A graduate of Danbury High School, she married Donald F. Deboben in 1952. Christine and her husband Donald were longtime Danbury residents who owned and operated Poor Richards Restaurant on Main Street for several years. Christine also worked in the grocery and retail businesses. For many years, she worked at the Pulse Point in downtown Danbury for the HART Bus Company, a job she thoroughly enjoyed.
After her husband Donald passed away, she met and married Gordon J. Hunt of Danbury in 1997. They briefly lived in North Carolina before moving back to Danbury. After Gordon passed away in 2005, she continued to live in Danbury until she moved to Southbury several years ago.
Christine is survived by her daughters, Diane Bell of Essex, CT and Donna Deboben of Southbury, CT with whom she made her home. She was predeceased by her son Donald K. Deboben Sr. and brother Edward Hogan. Christine also leaves a sister, Mildred Radachovsky of Fayettvile, NC and 5 grandsons, Michael (Maggie) Bell of Oxford, CT; Kevin Bell of Essex,CT; Brian (Leah) Bell of Manchester,CT; Donald K. Deboben Jr. of Danbury, CT and Christopher Deboben of Danbury, CT. She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Sunday, March 16th at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury from 2:00-5:00p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 17th at 9:00a.m at St. Peter Church, 115 Main Street, Danbury. Entombment will follow at the St. Peter Cemetery mausoleum.
