Alfred E. Tracy age 86 of New Fairfield CT passed away at Danbury Hospital on March 18, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.
Al was born on September 6, 1927 in New York to Lester Tracy and Marie (Meyer) (Tracy) Ellis. He served his country during WWII in Germany from 1946 to 1950. Al enjoyed fishing and a good NASCAR race. He was a man of all trades; he could fix and repair anything that came his way. Al was a man of faith and he loved his Lord which was so evident in the poems he wrote.
Al was preceded in death by his parents and his step father Raymond Ellis. He is survived by his wife Helen (Sullivan) Tracy , his daughter Patricia Tompkins and her husband Brian Tompkins of New Fairfield, CT, his son Michael Tracy and his wife Shelia Tracy of Danbury, CT, six grandchildren Colleen (Tompkins) Smith and her husband Chris Smith, T.J. Sweeney and his wife Christa Sweeney, Tracy Tompkins, Nicole Tracy and her fiancé Steve Nickolas, Christopher Tompkins, and Michael Tracy, three great grandchildren Cameron Tompkins, Cadence Sweeney and Kenzie Sweeney, his two brothers William Ellis of Bethel, CT and Robert Ellis of NC, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Tuesday March 25th at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street Danbury CT from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield CT on Wednesday March 26th at 10:30am. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to Company "A" Fire House, 302 Ball Pond Road New Fairfield CT 06812 in memory of Alfred Tracy.
