Stolle, Leon F.
Leon F. Stolle, 92, of Danbury, husband of the late Barbara (Setaro) Stolle, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 25th. He was born in Danbury on September 13, 1921, son of the late John and Anna (Pope) Stolle. He was a graduate of Henry Abbott Technical School and worked for many years as maintenance manager for Western Connecticut State University.
Mr. Stolle was a member of the Old Timers Athletic Association, and the Amerigo Vespucci Lodge in Danbury. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed all sports including football, baseball and basketball. He was proud to have been inducted into the WCSU Sports Hall of Fame as their "Number One Fan."
He will be sadly missed by his two sons, David Stolle and his wife, Nancy of Westerly, RI, and Frank Stolle of Danbury; his daughter, Susan Stolle of Danbury; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Monday, March 31st at 10:30am. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday between the hours of 3:00 and 5:00pm.
