Conn, Helena
Helena (Hulton) Conn, a life long New Milford, CT resident, died Tuesday April 15, 2014 in New Milford at the age of 89.
Mrs. Conn was born in New Milford, CT, November 14, 1924, daughter of the late James R. Sr. and Mary (Rooney) Hulton. She was a 1942 graduate of New Milford High School. In 1946, she married Walter J. Conn. Walter predeceased her in 2007.
She worked for SNET from 1944 to 1953. She was the Republican Deputy Registrar of Voters and Registrar of Voters for the Town of New Milford for many years. She was a former member of the Lake Waramaug Country Club, a member of the New Milford Historical Society and the New Milford Thrift Mart. She was also a big UCONN Women basketball fan and a MET fan.
Mrs. Conn is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Saggese and her husband Vincent of Southbury, CT and Sarah Herring and her husband Raymond of New Milford, Ct; her daughter- in-law Joan Conn of New Milford, CT; a brother Paul V. Hulton; and sisters, Catherine Schaffer, Geraldine Knowles and Elizabeth Peyron; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her son W. Timothy Conn, brothers James Jr, Leo, Philip and Patrick Hulton and sister Mary Collins.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday April 18, 2014, 11 AM at Our Lady of the Lakes Church in New Milford. Interment will follow in Center Cemetery, New Milford. Calling hours will be held on Thursday Apr. 17 from 5 to 8 PM at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT.
