A Good Guy with a big heart lost his brave fight to Sarcoma on May 29,2014. The spark of this family has left, but his spirit will live on. He was 53.
Chris was born on April 29, 1961 to the late Arthur E, and Elizabeth J Muhlfeld in Camp LeJune, North Carolina. He was proud of his Marine beginings. A Bethel native, Chris attended Bethel Schools and was a 1979 graduate of Henry Abbot Technical School in Danbury in the electrical department. He attended the IBEW local 488 apprentice program and received his journeyman's license after completion. He was very proud to be a Union Electrician of Local Union 488.
A former member of the Bethel Volunteer Fire Department, he was a Battalion Chief during his time of service. His love of auto racing found him at the Danbury racearena many Saturday nights as a pit crew member for Bill Meeken. He was also a pit crew member of Jim Dolan's #69 Modified for many years. Chris enjoyed traveling to the races, friendship and the love of competition. He loved to tease his daughters and shared his love of auto racing with them.
