Barton, Mary Jane

Mary Jane (Potter) Barton, age 63, of Bethel, Connecticut, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Danbury Hospital on her own terms, after a long illness. She was the wife of Richard H. Barton, mother of Richard H. "Rick" Barton, Jr., and grandmother of Alexandria Rey "Lexi" Barton and Logan Archer "Rogan" Barton.
Mary Jane was born in Danbury on April 8, 1952, the youngest daughter of the late John "Jack" Potter of Danbury, and Irene (Schories) Potter of Persia, Iowa. Her elder siblings are John Potter of Hawaii, Larry Potter of New Jersey and her late sister, Carol Ann Peart, of Pennsylvania.
After graduating from Danbury High School in 1965, Mary Jane worked in local manufacturing businesses before settling in for three decades of service assembling circuit boards at EATON Aerospace in the Town of Bethel. Always dependable, rarely disagreeable, and steadfast in her "take no garbage from anyone" attitude, she enjoyed the company of her close friends, including Marge, Judy, Linda, and Sally. She often enjoyed country music, watching American Idol, playing with her grandchildren and listening to Bill O'Reilly (unfortunately; no one is truly perfect).
She is survived by her husband, son, grandchildren, remaining siblings, several nieces and nephews, her furball of a cat, Kizzy, extended family members and close friends.
