Rosemarie Gertrude (Wieland) Feeley, of Danbury, died on Saturday, June 28, 2014. She was the widow of James J. Feeley, Jr.
Rosemarie was born in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Peter Paul and Hedwig Alice (Ewert) Wieland. She was raised in Queens Village, NY attending Andrew Jackson High School in Queens and Brown's Business School in Jamaica, NY. She moved to Danbury in 1952. She was employed as a Secretary in the law firm of Spiro and Levine, then at Schlumberger-Doll Research in Ridgefield, CT for 33 years. After her retirement from Schlumberger in 1986, she worked as an office temporary at Pitney Bowes and Union Carbide and was also employed as a permanent part-time employee at Everett James, Inc. Ridgefield.
She was a member of the Danbury United Methodist Church since 1979, and belonged to the Methodist Helping Hands Society and Methodist Women's Society. During her lifetime she enjoyed bowling, reading, gardening, listening to jazz, symphonic music, dancing, in-door dance roller skating, movies, dining with friends and playing golf. She was also a member of the AARP Chapter 1847 and enjoyed producing their newsletter for a number of years.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews, and good friend Brenda Bumbala of Danbury.
The funeral service will be held at the Danbury United Methodist Church, 5 Clapboard Ridge Rd., Danbury, Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Danbury. There are no calling hours. Information and on line condolences at HullFuneralService.com.
