Rishdan, Albert E.
Albert E. Rishdan, 88, of Danbury, husband of Rose (Montesi) Rishdan, died on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Rishdan was born in Olean, New York, December 2, 1925, a son of Fannie (Gabriel) and Louis Abdo Rishdan.
He relocated to Danbury with his family in 1929 at the age of four and later attended Danbury schools.
Mr. Rishdan was a World War II U.S. Army veteran serving in the 69th Infantry division in Central Europe and Rhineland.
He was a recipient of the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and two Bronze Stars.
A Danbury resident for the past eighty five years, Mr. Rishdan was a retired maintenance staff member at Rogers Park Middle School, Danbury and a former real estate agent.
He was a former staff member of Glen Hill Convalescent Center, Danbury.
Mr. Rishdan was a member of St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church of Danbury and the former Holy Name Society.
In addition to his wife, Rose (nee Montesi) of sixty-five years, he is survived by three daughters, Rebecca Rishdan Williams and her husband, Warren of Windsor, CT, Rosanne Rishdan of Danbury and Diane Greco and her husband, William of Stratford; a brother, John Rishdan and his wife, Delores of Paramus, NJ; a sister, Mary Abdo of Danbury; two granddaughters, Sarah and Mia and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and in laws.
Besides his parents, Mr. Rishdan was predeceased by five sisters, Aileen Shaheen, Esther Define, Marsha Taylor, Lulu Montesi and Edna Michael.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 11 AM in St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 17 Granville Ave., Danbury.
Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
There will be no calling hours.
Contributions to St. Anthony Church Scholarship Fund would be appreciated.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western CT and Bethel Health Care for their kindness, compassion, comfort and care extended to Albert and his family.
