Judith Anne (Merritt) Dauphin, age 73 of Bethel, CT passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at her home.
Judy was born November 9, 1940 in Stamford, CT, daughter of the late Robert and Una (Drew) Merritt.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Merritt and his wife Pam of Bradenton, FL; her aunt, Carolyn Merritt of Danbury, CT; her sons: Robert Dauphin and his wife Cathy of Brookfield, CT, and Lee Dauphin of Danbury, CT and their father, Roland Dauphin of Myrtle Beach, SC; and her three grandsons, Robert, Shane and Alex Dauphin of Brookfield, CT; her loyal dog, Cody; and a multitude of stray cats that always had a safe place and food because of her kind heart.
Judy moved to Bethel from Stamford and started her family almost 50 years ago. She lived and worked in the Danbury area up until her death. Judy loved playing cards with her friends, jewelry making, going to the casino, puzzles, baking, and tending her beautiful gardens. She was a devoted member of her church, always volunteering for various functions including hospice, and was a long time member of the choir. Her devotion to God was shown in her every day selfless actions.
Judy mostly loved doting on and spoiling her three grandsons. She also had a tremendous love of animals. She loved her other home in New Brunswick, Canada and found happiness and peace there for many years. She never asked for anything, but always gave selflessly to all. Judy was a "second mother" to many of her son's friends, and a true, loving friend to all. Her sparkling eyes and her radiant smile will be sadly missed.
