Trowbridge, Stuart B.
Stuart Brown "Stu" Trowbridge, age 89, of Bethel, CT died at his home Monday, August 18, 2014. He was the husband of Marie (Golder) Gaffney Trowbridge.
He was born in Danbury, CT, November 11, 1924, son of the late George and Gladys (Brown) Trowbridge and served in the Army during WWII in the European Theater. Stu loved watching sports and participated in many sports in his youth. He was honored in 1990 for his sports achievements by the Danbury Old Timer's Association.
He loved to travel, listen to country music, have a good meal and was known for his great sense of humor. He was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Bethel.
The most important thing in Stuart's life was his family. In addition to his wife, Stu is survived by his daughters: Sharon Lawrence and her husband Joe, Sue Perry and her husband Dean; step daughters: Joan Burke and Ann Sacrider and their families; 3 siblings: James Trowbridge, Lois Trowbridge, Grace Kastel and her husband Roger; grandchildren: Michael & Jesse Lawrence, Tessa & Julio Gianoni, Matt & Joselyne Perry; great grandchildren: Wesley Perry and Arianna Gianoni; a sister in law: Betty Tomascak as well as many nieces and nephews. Stuart was predeceased by his first wife of 52 years: Barbara (Ferry) Trowbridge.

A graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel, Saturday morning at 10:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life Service held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 95 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, Saturday at 11:00 AM. Following the service, the family will greet friends at a reception in the Parish Hall of St. Thomas Church.
