Raul Rebello, age 93 of Danbury, died on Tuesday at the Danbury Hospital. He was the longtime compan-ion of Hermine Pinteric of Danbury. Raul was born in Fornos, Portugal June 1, 1917, the son of the late Afonso and Belmira (DePina) Rebelo. As a young man, he emigrated to the United States and upon receiving his U.S. citizenship entered the U.S. Navy serving during World War II. A professional tailor, Raul was the proprietor of Rebello Tailor Shop in Danbury for 69 years. He was a parishioner of Saint Peter Church, Danbury and in his spare time enjoyed traveling, and spending cherished times with family and friends. He was an avid soccer and New York Yankees fan. In addition to Hermine, his longtime companion, Raul is survived by two daughters, Sandra R. Sanchez and Elsa H. Rebello, both of Danbury; his stepdaughter, Laura Kessler of Ridgefield; and six grandchildren, Rafael, Alejandro, Viviana, Sandra, Melina, and Ismael; and his beloved cat, "Metzi" A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 29th at St. Peter Church, Danbury at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the spring at Mount Grove Cemetery, Easton. The family will receive friends in the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury on Friday from 5 thru 8 p.m. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers are requested to be made to the Danbury Hospital Prax Air Cancer Center, 24 Hospital Avenue, Danbury, CT 06810.
