Steven M. Stark, 53, of Sunrise, Fla., formerly of Danbury, husband of Beverly (Lasker) Stark died on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the Cleveland Clinic, Weston, FL. Mr. Stark was born in Danbury, March 22, 1957, a son of the late Frank and Ray (Saul) Stark. He attended Danbury schools and was associated with his family's former business, The NY Bake Shop of Danbury. In later years, Mr. Stark owned and operated the State Kosher Market and Stark Catering of Bridgeport prior to moving to Florida seventeen years ago. While in Florida, Mr. Stark was a baker with Doris Italian Market, Pembroke Pines, FL. He enjoyed cooking and baking at work as well as home. He was a member of the Loyalty Lodge. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Micha Stark of Belleville, NJ and Ben Stark of Tamarac, FL; a daughter, Chaya Stark of Lansdale, PA; a sister, Linda Stark Walther of Danbury; three brothers, Hal Stark of Monroe, CT, Adam Stark of O'Fallon, MO and Daniel Stark of Danbury; his former wife, Ellen Stark of Tamarac, FL and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services and burial will take place on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 12 noon in the United Jewish Center Cemetery, Gray's Bridge Road, Brookfield, CT with Rabbi Sholom Deitsch of Chabad of Northern Fairfield County officiating. A Period of Mourning will be observed from Sunday through Wednesday at 61 Brittania Drive, Sterling Woods, Danbury with Minyan at 7PM. Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury is in charge of arrangements.
