Margaret "Midge" Webb, 87, died peacefully in her sleep February 15, 2011 at her home in Danbury. Midge was born April 20, 1923 in Maulbronn, Germany to Luise and Theodor Richter. Her family immigrated to America in 1927 and settled in the New York area. She graduated from Edison High School in Mount Vernon, New York in 1941. She married James W. Herbert on September 14, 1946. She was a conscientious homemaker and later worked as a secretary in the Mount Vernon school system. After retirement in 1979 she and Jim moved to Franklin, NC. Throughout her life she was active in many church and volunteer activities. She was especially talented at and enjoyed quilting. She enjoyed looking at the photo albums of her many trips across the USA. Midge married James "Larry" Webb in 1988 several years after the passing of her first husband. They resided happily in Franklin until they moved to Lebanon, OH in 2005. In 2010 she moved for the last time to Danbury, to be close her daughter and family. All who knew her enjoyed her friendly smile and the easy manner she engaged friends and strangers in conversation. She was always considerate and caring. Midge was zealous in remembering family and friends with birthday cards. Until the end she maintained new and old friendships across the country and in Germany with regular telephone conversations. She was a good friend and a dedicated mother. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at The Gardens Assisted Living Home for their care and friendship for Midge.
