Scott will be missed. He gave us a map we all can follow through our lives even when the night is at its darkest Scott provided the light. Im sure Scott,Heath and Emily are in heaven watching over Newtown. His movies will continue to provide insight. God bless and be safe. Very sad, such a large family too. I remember Scott as a free spirit and thinker. No doubt it fueled his creativity with his work. He remotely touched more peoples lives that many will only later recognize. Very sad

Scott was one of the kindest most gentle people I have met in the entertainment business. Never bitter, never rattled. It was truly a joy working with him. Even when the job was unusual, like the German paperwork for "Shutter Island." Scott called and said "I have a problem. I need for hundreds of sheets of paper to be thrown out a window, and they need to 'drift' ". "Fine" I said. "That's not all," he said "when they land, they fall in water, so they need to be able to soak up water." "Light enough to float, but heavy enough to soak up water? Thanks a lot, Scott!" Thanks, indeed, through a number of films over the last few years, I had come to look forward to working with, and seeing Scott. i will miss his gentle ways and his smiling face. My condolences to the entire family. He was one of the good ones.

So sorry to hear of your loss. It has sent shock waves across the world of film crew, like myself, who got the pleasure to know and work with Scott. I met him on Truman Show and then worked for him on Shutter Island. He was that rare combination of a witty, funny guy, who was rarely at a loss for a sharp comeback . But more importantly he was a gentleman and from all I have heard an amazing family man. He treated me so kindly when I worked for him and he smiled through the tough days. I am truly sorry for you and your children. My prayers and thoughts to all of you.
