Belansky, William
William R. Belansky, 74, formerly of Danbury, husband of the late Cynthia (Pomeroy) Belansky, died on Tuesday, October 30th in Autryville, NC. He was born in Danbury on December 31, 1937, beloved son of Arlene McKnight of Las Vegas, and the late John Belansky. He was a graduate of Henry Abbott Technical School, Class of 1954 and Los Angeles Jr. Technical College in 1961. Bill was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in Hahn, Germany during peacetime. He worked as a printing lithographer for area companies including Graphics Plus, Pro Color, Typ-hi Printers, and Keno Graphics. He proudly served as a Past Exalted Ruler at the BPOE #120 Danbury Elks Club. He loved riding his Harley, golfing and enjoyed taking his 1972 Olds Cutlass to car shows where he has won many trophies. He was a very kind, caring and giving person, always willing to lend a hand. He will be sadly missed by his four sons, William Belansky, Jr. and his wife, Loreen of CA, Gregory Belansky and his wife, Lisa of CA, Donald Belansky and his wife, Debbie of CA, and Andrew Belansky of CT; his two daughters, Jill Elko and her husband, Marc of SC, and Susan Belansky of AZ; his 13 grandchildren, Ryan and Justin Elko, Brandon and Brittnie Belansky, Shaun and Tim Doyle, William, Emilie, and Chloie Belansky, Paul Sumner, Cruz Lopez, Brandon and Bradley Phelam and one great grandchild, Irelyn. He is also survived by his step mother, Mary (Chiarella) Belansky his brothers, Timothy Belansky and his wife, Jean, Paul Belansky and his wife, Linda, Jay Belansky, a sister-in-law Joan Burlinson and his sister Carol Setaro as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Debbie Belansky and brothers John Belansky and John Burlinson. Funeral services will be held at St. James Episcopal Church in Danbury on Monday, November 5th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery in Brookfield. The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield on Sunday between the hours of 2:00 and 5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill's memory may be made to the Elks National Foundation and mailed to Danbury Elks Lodge No. 120, 36 Tamarack Ave; STE 114, Danbury, CT 06811-4822.
