Stephenson, Gloria
Ms. Gloria Elaine Hamilton Stephenson, 67, fondly known as "Ms. G", of 33 Beckerle St. Danbury, CT was called home to be with the Lord on January 14, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family. Ms. Stephenson was born on July 20, 1945 in St. Catherine, Jamaica raised by Aldred and Corinth Nelson. She migrated to the United States in 1986, where she worked very hard to support her family. She worked at Risdon and Danbury Health Care Center. She enjoyed gardening in the spring time and loved reading her Bible. She had a zest for life, loved to travel and enjoyed dancing at family gatherings. She will fondly be remembered for her infectious smile, her Jamaican rum cake and her ability to make everyone feel welcomed in her presence. Gloria loved her dogs "Bingo" and "Milo". She leaves to cherish her memories two beautiful daughters, Jacqueline White and companion, Nelson Agyapong of Waterbury and Simone Stewart Brown and son-in-law, Ricardo Brown of Danbury, two grandchildren; Marquece Turner and Justin Brown both of Danbury, two brothers, one sister; several nieces, nephews cousins and many extended family members in both Jamaica and the United States. Funeral service will be 11a.m. Saturday January 19, 2013 at Mt. Pleasant A.M.E. Zion Church 69 Rowan St. Danbury, CT. with Rev. Lloyd McKenzie officiating Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Calling hour will be held 10am Saturday January 19, 2013 at Mt. Pleasant A.M.E. Zion Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30am until the time of service. Services entrusted to Chapel Memorial Funeral Home 35-37 Grove St. Waterbury.
